“Aims and Objectives
By the end of this project I will have
- Have conducted research on game theory, and more specifically on gaming and masculinity
- I will research a range of game-making strategies and choose the best for the project
- I will design and make a prototype game, which may also be the basis for my final project in semester 3
- I will gain user feedback on how the effectiveness of the game”
Checking My Progress
- I think I have achieved much of what I expected to achieve in these aims, but the process has taken me much longer than expected
- It has been a challenge keeping up with the week’s taught and self-directed learning while also planning and executing the project
- The research stages have gone well and I think I have explored a broad range of books for theoretical knowledge about how I should approach the game design process, narrative and mechanics
- I am currently making the game using lots of tutorials from YouTube and a tutorial book from the library
- I am trusting in my instinct that I will soon be able to make the game in the time that I have left!
- I am unlikely to have much time to test the game or iterate, but this is something that I hope to carry over into Semester 3.
