My Reflections:
- It was useful to think together what the skills of a good game designer are and how to think about game mechanics and type of play
- We were given a framework to use when thinking about the goals of a game:

- It will be good to think about the game using these headings as it should hopefully help us hear and collate our individual ideas into a shared road map
- It was interesting to think about the different types of play and to think about what types of play we want to elicit
- We talked about the idea of games producing friction and this generates fun
- The discussion also made me think about the game I am working on for this semester’s project and I plan to interrogate my design using these ideas. At present my game is designed to use mimetic play (in the main scenes in the train) and then more traditional types of game play in the platform sections
Next Steps
Our group has arranged to meet to talk through this workshop and to continue with the ideation process
We are having another workshop with Emma in 2 weeks
