Reflection
I have been working with 2 other students on making an application to the Global Smart Lab project coordinated at WSA.
We started off with the idea to do the project on inclusive futures but after a lot of discussion found that we struggled to find an interesting or unusual idea for the project.
After some consideration and an email exchange with the supervisor for the project, we decided to change our minds and apply for the conversations around death project.
We spent some time brainstorming the possibilities of this project and ended up talking about what a ‘good life’ and therefore a ‘good funeral’ looks like from different cultural perspectives.
We talked about the way that ‘good’ social status in life can project the idea that the person who dies, dies well. This includes having a big family with lots of grandchildren.
We have agreed to apply for the conversations about death project and hope to be able to have more conversations, through game-making, that unpick this idea that a good death is all about how you look to others.
