I really like the idea of thinking about the body as something that is an abstract concept that is culturally defined, but also as something that can be considered from it’s embodied experiences – the interaction between the physiological structures and the conscious mind. It suggests that we should use the term mindbody.

Interesting idea that suggests that we should consider our actions as always being in relation to the world around us. We influence and are influenced by it. Later they write about this idea that the technology hides itself through ‘eye candy’ and if this wasn’t the case, we would have a better sense of being connected to it by the people that made it – an idea that I am thinking about – creating more ‘friction’ to remind (not obscure) the fact that this is a ‘made thing’ as opposed to a technology that just came about from nowhere.
Lots of ideas for my intimacy project – ways to have feedback loops that come back to the participant. Interesting ideas about pushing back against ideas / concepts that seem like truths in the way that we understand and engage with technology. Another interesting avenue for creative work I think.
