{"id":1005,"date":"2025-04-09T14:57:36","date_gmt":"2025-04-09T14:57:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/wsa-creativetechnologies.uk\/kb4n24\/?p=1005"},"modified":"2025-05-18T13:52:38","modified_gmt":"2025-05-18T13:52:38","slug":"creative-practice-more-game-making","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wsa-creativetechnologies.uk\/kb4n24\/creative-practice-more-game-making\/","title":{"rendered":"Game Making &#8211; Danger on the Train &#8211; Reworking the Storyboard"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Thoughts since I last worked on the game<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>I think the narrative needs to be edited and simplified <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I think the idea to have multiple games of different formats embedded within the game may be confusing for game of this size<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Instead I think that having 2-3 platform games that build on each other in an episodic way &#8211; they come back 2-3 times during the main game narrative &#8211; might be a better way of creating a sense of progression<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Aims for todays session <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list has-medium-font-size\">\n<li>to finish the update on the storyboard images (using photos) to start giving more shape to the visuals. I still would like to illustrate these but at this prototype stage, I think it&#8217;s better to continue to work with rough and quick images. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I also want to start on the platform game elements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Progress<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-medium-font-size\">Gallery of images created for the narrative scenes back to looking at tutorials for using tilemaps <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>I decided to go back to paper and plan how I want this version of the game to flow, including what the platform elements look like,
